For more than ten years, Carroll County has been home for my family.  My husband, Zack, and I are raising our three children in Hampstead, and like so many families here, we care deeply about the future of this community.

However, that future is increasingly being shaped in Annapolis.

Today, our farmland is being targeted for large-scale solar development, high-density “affordable housing,” and massive data centers. At the very same time, our municipalities and our county are facing serious water challenges that are already stifling the kind of smart, responsible growth our community needs.

Meanwhile, through the unfunded Blueprint for Education, Annapolis also continues shifting enormous costs onto local taxpayers in order to balance their budget. Just this year alone, the state pushed additional pension costs down to counties — adding millions of dollars to Carroll County’s own budget.

Carroll County cannot afford passive leadership at a moment like this, and that’s exactly why I’m running for Commissioner in District 2.

I have demonstrated a consistent approach: do the homework, ask the hard questions, understand the mandates, and work with partners to find solutions that serve residents.

As a leader in launching the county's first innovative public school option, I worked fully within Maryland’s legal and regulatory framework to expand educational opportunity for educators and families. Rather than complain about mandates, I studied them, proving that effective leadership means understanding the system and making it work for Carroll.

My service on the Carroll County Board of Zoning Appeals has further strengthened my commitment to fact-based decision-making rooted in statute and long-term planning. I understand that zoning, growth, and infrastructure are directly connected and that responsible development must never outpace our roads, schools, and public safety capacity.

My vision is clear:

Move from passive governance to proactive leadership.

That means Commissioners who are routinely at the table with municipalities, the school system, and state partners. It means accountability to taxpayers cannot be delegated. And it means protecting and strengthening the infrastructure that supports our community.

My top priorities include smart growth that puts infrastructure first, addressing critical needs in our school facilities, public safety and leveraging local, state, and federal partnerships to secure the resources Carroll deserves.

I believe growth should strengthen our county, not strain it, and that leadership requires engagement, diligence, and the courage to ask tough questions.

Carroll County deserves nothing less.
